About Coda Marine
Coda Marine Design Inc. was incorporated as a Canadian business on July 1st, 2008. Located in Gibsons, on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, a short ferry ride from Vancouver, BC.
Our mission is to support the marine industry with dependable, efficient design that can be contracted for large or small projects. Our goal is to work seamlessly with your design team to provide a variety of design services, from 2D drafting to 3D production detailing.
I started Coda Marine for two reasons: first, my lifelong passion for boat and ship design sparked an interest in 3D marine design. Second, I recognized a growing need for accurate 3D modeling in the marine industry. Thus, I created a company to provide professional design support for Naval Architects and shipyards on an affordable, contracted basis, leveraging my years of experience in marine design.
I received a Bachelor of Science in 1993 from Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering Technology, with a minor in Technical Graphics. I started my design career working in the Seattle area with companies such as Kvichak Marine and Elliott Bay Design Group. I have worked on a variety of projects, from designing small aluminum crafts, to production design of barges and ferries.
